5 Tips to Prevent Your Glasses From Fogging When Wearing A Face Mask

Wearing a face mask is new to most of us but for those that are seasoned veterans, they've learned a thing or two about how to effectively wear a face mask and eyeglasses at the same time. Here are 5 tips to try.

      1. A 2011 study published in the Annals of The Royal College of Surgeons of England found that a solution of soap and water is just the trick needed.

“Immediately before wearing a face mask, wash the spectacles with soapy water and shake off the excess,” the study recommends. “Then let the spectacles air dry or gently dry off the lenses with soft tissue before putting them back on. Now the spectacle lenses should not mist up when the face mask is worn.”

      2. Some people have found that folding a piece of tissue over the bridge of your nose before applying your mask can help to absorb the moisture before it passes up to your glasses.

      3. Another home remedy seems to be rubbing shaving cream, baby shampoo, or toothpaste on your lenses, then rinsing and wiping dry. There are also many anti-fog products on the market that claim to do the trick.

      4. Many medical students learn early on to use white athletic or medical tape or even an adhesive bandage to seal the top of the mask around the bridge of your nose.

      5. Simply pull the mask higher on your nose so it comes up under your glasses. Use the weight of the glasses to secure the mask which will block the airflow. Make sure to pull the mask up over the bridge of the nose as high as you can (ensure it’s still under your chin too) and let your glasses rest on top of the mask.

Our customers have had great success with our masks because of our well designed internal nose wire. Let us know what works best for you and share your photos with us on social media! #LALMASKS
